Thanks to the Nová Síť, we used the residency facilities to explore the possibilities and the artistic intention of creating an original production for children. Together with the owners and operators of the building we also discussed contemporary performance art and its forms. Everything took place in a professional and humanly warm atmosphere.

The goal of our residency, which was fulfilled, was to work on the theme of the future production. Specifically, we explored visual means, working with the subject and object on a model of the set made here. We explored how hand animation works with objects and everyday objects (spoons, forks and knives on magnets), the use of pop-ups inspired by art books and the possibilities of incorporating video sequences using a pocket projector. We also worked on creating a script for this original performance for children and their parents.

During the residency, the owners of the property took us on beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside with ponds. We were able to learn about the approach of the Cistercians, who have historically had a hand in shaping this landscape and its management. Walks in the countryside, a trip to Český Krumlov, 20 km away, or to the nearby village of Římov, where there is a pilgrimage trail, contributed to the uniqueness of the stay in this place.
